These recent paratarp pictures have me thinking I need one of these wonders. Couldnt hurt to have one in the pack! Nice pics.
I have always used 4 season tents (Bibler, Hilleberg) and got pretty used to pitching my tent anywhere I damned pleased- above treeline at 12,000-13,000ft. in the Rockies regardless of weather. I actually like having to put a little more thought into site selection/weather conditions! The ParaHootch is now my only shelter.
ggaff,
Nice looking pictures and country (dry like Nevada ). I'm thinking you've got a spring near by or do you have to pack in water?
I have to cache water at this location but about three miles from here is a spring and about one mile is a creek but it is 1000 feet down. There are several very active springs now that we had a record wet winter last year. I cache the water so I don't have to spend a lot of time getting it.
So how did you do on the deer hunt? Looks like the back side of D11.
