If you've never listened to the Meat Eater Podcast I would highly recommend listening to "The Meat Tree" Parts 1 & 2. Even if you don't liker to hunt, it's a great adventure story. How much hiking staffs do you need to fend off a grizzley?

I have a staff that would fend off a grizzley as long as it really, really wanted to get away from me so that when I poked it with my sharpened staff it would "fend" successfully. Don't think any staff would be my choice for "fending" otherwise. That podcast (and Meat Eater stuff in general) is good.

It was one of the best podcasts I've heard. The Latvian Eagle and his trekking poles stepped up big. I'd gladly hang out with him anytime.

I loved these two episodes. The break between 1 and 2 was disappointing, but well worth the wait. The Eagle needs to do a hunt to eat T-shirt depicting him fending off the grizz with his trekking poles.
