Seems better to look at how things have actually transpired as opposed to fantasy/revisionist ideologies.

And to which part of the U.S. Army does the Missouri Militia belong? These men were murderers and the fact that they were never tried or convicted is irrelevant. If the governor signed an execution order without any judicial process then he is/was no better than the Nazi officials who planned and carried out "The Final Solution".

Since you selected this event to support your argument are we to surmise that you approve of mass executions without due process of who? People you dislike? Mormons? Jews? Christians? Blacks? Muslims? Maybe you just get off thinking about blowing the skull of a 10-year-old boy apart.

Or is your point that someone can play on emotions or some pre-existing prejudice and convince 240 men to commit atrocities? You may want to read Eric Hoffer's book, "The True Believer" to gain some insight on this. I'd have to dig out the titles but there are a couple of books dealing with mob psychology. too. And what you had at Haun's Mill was a mob, not a disciplined military organization, no matter what they called themselves.

History has shown it is rather easy to get soldiers to obey orders. Can you show us any incidents where a large number of soldiers ignored their orders?

Changing the subject when your argument isn't going well is another Goebbles tactic. I repeat, those guys in Missouri were not soldiers, they were a murderous mob. To claim they were soldiers is to defame all true soldiers everywhere.

    Image says this pretty well...
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." -Robert A. Heinlein
"Count your blessings and you will never finish" - Fr. Jim Babb, SJ
