BTW, The NRA has really good hotel rates for the event.

    They're running out quick....

They started with about three pages of hotels and are down to almost nothing.

The entire area will sell out soon.

    See you all there....

    Have fun!!!
Good hunting, be safe and enjoy your back-country adventures!

Looks like they're down to 2 Hotels if you haven't already made plans/reservations.

Both are 11-12 miles from the NRA event....

The NRA Special Hotel Rate offer is now closed to new reservations....

They were a good deal and close to the event in the beginning of the offer.

You now have to order directly with the Hotel(s).

Have a safe and enjoyable trip!

    See you there....

I know not everyone is in the same situation. And making an event like this is very difficult for some if not most people....especailly during tough times. Work, family and other obligations are often a priority. I wasn't able to attend my first event in person until last year and was quite suprised, so I want to share and help promote the event if possible. But also, personally feel this is a very important and exceptional year if there ever was one in the history of our nation. This is the silent majority in America....in person. It is a family event with people from all walks of life and age. It is a very warm, friendly, safe and enjoyable time.... Even if you can only stop by for a day and look around. I found the general NRA Annual Meeting exceptionally interesting and educatinal on many levels. You will learn more about what the NRA is about in a few of hours by attending their general meeting than you will by reading their magazine in a life time. You will have a new appreciation for being a part of a great organization and your membership.

There will be many guest speakers, meetings and seminars and firearms on display.

    http://www.nraam.org/

Most of the speeches will be available through the NRA website if you can't attend.

If you are not able attend in person you can follow the event on NRA NEWS.com

Have a safe and enjoyable trip if you can....

    NRA Annual Meeting 2012
    St. Louis MO

The trip went well. Ran into some light snow on I-80 on the way out. Kind of ironic....in Snow Shoe PA. A favorite place to stop for the night years ago. Other than that the weather was good for the rest of the trip. From what I hear a bad storm was headed for St. Louis the night we left. Had a friend call from Nebraska as we were leaving and said the wind was getting really bad and heading our way.

Had a chance to stop at a cool sporting goods store on the way to St. Louis!
One of the benefits of driving is having the versatility to seeing different things and meeting people along the way....
The entire experience from beginning to end! Luv the adventure!!

    Then for the real fun!

It started out with a nice room in the beautiful Marriott St' Louis Union Station.
A National Historic Landark with amazing architecture from the 65 ft ceiling in the Grand Hall to the "Allegorical Window" hand-made stained glass with hand-cut Tiifany Glass and Victorian engineered 11 acre train shed built in the 1890's with a "eclectic mix of Romanesque stlye." Known as one of our Nation's true architecual "gems." The window features three women representing the main U.S. Train Stations in the 1890's. New York, St. Louis and San Francisco. St. Louis Union Station once served 100,000 rail passengers per day. This was the Gateway of America.

Pappy's BBQ in St. Louis is a must....

    The NRA event was Awesome!

    It is a family event!

A very friendly and exciting atmosphere!

Much more than a person can read in American Rifleman or American Hunter magazine.

It is a great experience like no other....

Had a chance to meet C.J. Buck who autographed/engraved a 1/100 NRA 141ST Anniversary Knife.

Colt firearms offered a 1/5000 special edition book signed in person by the author R. L. Wilson, editor, designer, owner of the firearm collection featured in the book Robert M. Lee "Magnificent Colts" (personal friend of Elmer Keith and Jack O'Conner) and the President and CEO of Colt Firearms Lieuenant General William M. Keys.

Too many exhibitors to mention and see in one day....

I did have a person/customer reconize my Kifaru shirt!
(I only used it for that one day)

The Kifaru E&E worked perfect for the event and used it every day!

Had a chance to meet and shake hands with Texas - Governor Rick Perry.
    Ted, Shemane and Toby Nugent.
Lt. Col. Oliver North, Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin, Lt. Gen. William M. Keys and many others.

Many guest speakers included Romney, Santorum and several other Governors, Senators and Members of Congress.
Many who serve on the NRA 75 board of directors.
Senator Rick Santorum made an excellent speech and you can easliy see how important this was to him.
To share his views with members of the NRA and American people. He is a sincere person with great integrity.
Governor Mitt Romney also made a great speech and honestly think he finally gets it. NRA Life Member since 2006.
He made his promise in person to a large and unified group that will hold him accountable.
I will vote for him this year with 100% support!

If my memory is correct there have been 9 previous Presidents who were NRA Life Members!
It looks like Governor Mitt Romney has a great chance of being number Ten!!
And this election counts like never before....

    We MUST be.... "ALL IN"

Entertainment and other guest speakers included Larry the Cable Guy and Glenn Beck.

The Ted Nugent seminar and performance was Awesome!

And a Sunday morning Prayer Breakfast with Lt. Col. Oliver North, Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin and many guest.
World Champion Elk Caller Chad Schearer and Country Music Grammy Award Winner Bryan White.
Words can not describe this gathering with such great people who believe in their First Amendment Rights..
And what they are doing for the men and women and families in the U.S. Armed Forces.

It was an honor to share the event with a good friend and meet all the great people who attended!

The First and Second Amendment are a great concern in this next election.
And seems that people who believe in the 2A share these two American Values.

These are Individual Rights given by God, not government.
And the Bill of Rights protect these God given Rights from being infringed.

You can be very proud of your NRA membership!

    This was a powerful event.

    And fun too!!!

    -NRA-
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. Four million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
