Default Sandra, The math just doesn't work out

Sandra, the math just doesn’t work out.

“as you know, can cost a woman over $3000 during law school.”

Ok so lets look at the real cost? She can get the pills at Target for 9 dollars a month just 3 miles from Georgetown without insurance or so I have been told. Don’t use them. LOL! I checked out Planned Parenthood.

    http://www.plannedparenthood.org/hea...-pill-4228.htm

They have the cost listed at:

    “Cost about $15–$50 each month”

It appears Wal-Mart is matching the 9 dollar price.

    http://walmartstores.com/pressroom/news/6747.aspx

“More medicines covering more categories – Important prescription medicines have been added to the $4 program covering glaucoma, attention deficit disorder/attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), fungal infections and acne. Fertility and prescription birth control will also be included at $9, compared to national average prices ranging from $24 to $30 per month and saving women an estimated $15 to $21 per month – $180 to $250 annually.’

    Ok now for the math.

9 dollars a month comes to 108 dollars a year. She says “AS YOU KNOW” the cost can be OVER 3000 dollars during law school. So how long is law school? The math says 25 YEARS. LOL! Ok let’s say people do something called personal responsibility, yea crazy idea and a 31 year old lawyer to be asks her partner to buck up and share the cost. So he pays ½. Now we are up to 50 years as her cost is 4 dollars and 50 cents per month. This is what the President of the United States feels he must call Sandra for a pep talk and become the primary talking point for the nation. This is what our law makers must focus on? A Catholic university has to pony up 9 dollars a month is more important than:

    http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/

    1. $15,522,499,979,497.50 (the 50 cents is cuz of birth control) national dept as of March 10, 2012.

    2. Why it takes a Catholic university DECADES to graduate women lawyers. What the ….. Are they doing? Trying to turn them into nuns?

    3. High Gas/Oil prices not based on demand as world wide production is far greater than demand.

    4. Do we have a National budget? I don’t think there has been one for 2 years. Is that legal? Is that crazy? Is that both illegal and crazy?

    5. Are we ever going to put that guy who planned the 911 attacks on trial? There was talk about spending 600 million and shutting down NYC but then nothing. Just sayin…..

    6. Do we actually have an energy policy that can be reviewed for debate? Pro or Con I got to know. Anything? Anyone….Aw shoot we have nothing!

    7. Anyone remember that Jobs plan….. Say what?…Yea the Jobs plan?

    8. Do we have an immigration policy? No I mean a real policy?

    9. Inflation? Once you take out food, energy, metals, Architeuthis aka giant squid or any of the myriad of things the government doesn’t count anymore towards inflation after 25+ adjustments over the years does anyone believe we don’t have it? It seems the only thing dropping in price is birth control.

To return to the thread title either we have a 31 year old law school student who never heard of Planned Parenthood or WalMart or is seriously math deficient OR we have someone who deliberately spoke less than the truth in testimony before congress. I guess they haven't gotten to that point in Ms. Fluke's legal education but I seem to recall that lying to congress is a felony. But then I am neither a lawyer nor a law student so I could be wrong. Assuming I am not wrong, I wonder when the criminal proceedings will begin.

    Ralph.

It was worded so a person couldn't prove any lies. The liars are those who created the false perception aka the Administration and those in Congress who don’t want us talking about other issues. Maybe Sandra honestly feels she is the Rosa Parks of her generation? The entitlement culture knows no bounds.

The general rule is that you can be held responsible for what you know, or could have known or should have known had you exercised reasonable care. Of course, remember that I believe that any member of legislature who proposes, sponsors or votes for any law he knows or could have known or should have know was unconstitutional, and such law was later found to actually be unconstitutional by judicial process is guilty of nonfesance and should be removed from office (actually, I think they should be hung which accomplishes the same thing on a permanent basis).

In this case, whether some detail presented as fact is not factual or whether careful and clever wording creates an impression that has no basis in fact amounts to the same thing. It is an attempt to influence public policy based on a fiction. I suppose that if you are a genuine fool that contraception "can" cost $1,000/yr. but I suspect you really have to work at it to get the cost up that high.

She wasn't under oath. The whole thing was a sham by the Obama administration to divert attention from their stupid health care plan that forces Catholic institutions to pay for abortions and birth control. It was all a staged event, just for that purpose.

They cannot be thrown out of the streets fast enough for me.

Yup. In fact she is an activist not a poor student who can't pony up 9 dollars a month. She can afford Spring break after all? I love the way Obama ignores questions on "discourse" when his hypocrisy is pointed out time and time again by that the lone voice in the Press corp.

    This is also rich.

Pelosi just re-establishes her credentials as being dumber than a box full of rocks. I doubt she knows what "factual" means. On balance, though, Pelosi is probably smarter than 98% of the people who vote for her - which may explain why California is in such deep trouble.

    Even more.

    http://www.metro.us/newyork/life/art...ing-her-a-slut

"I don't think that a statement like this issued, saying that his choice of words was not the best, changes anything, and especially when that statement is issued when he's under significant pressure from his sponsors who have begun to pull their support,” Fluke said.

But what about the bad DISCOURSE that Obama keeps talking about. Are we to keep on fighting over issues or do we accept when someone admits they made a mistake? She is too good to pay 9 bucks a month or accept an apology? This is the Rosa Parks of her generation?

They are all politicians therefore they are liars (or were they liars first? I won't get into the debate). She is just a budding politician so she took every opportunity to 1. get on TV and 2. lie. She will go far.

And here is another thing to think about....since when do we expect or require our colleges and universities to provide/offer health insurance coverage for their students? My kids certainly had to provide their own by way of our family policy! Or, is she talking about getting free birth control at the on campus health clinic?
