Default Grizzly Tuff Holster or Alaskan Sportsmans Holster

I'm looking into getting a chest holster. Does or has anyone on the forum use either of these holsters? I did a search and couldn't come up with any matches. They appear to be very similar and are about the same price.

    Jerry,

I have an Alaskan Sportsman for my 500 Linebaugh (Ruger Bisley conversion, 5.5" bbl). The holster is very comfortable and stays out of the way of pack straps. Although I have never seen a Grizzly Holster "live" it does seem to be nearly identical in design. Based on the photos, the Grizzly looks to hold the handgun nearer to vertical that does the Alaskan, but that may just be a strap-adjustment issue. John

I'd much rather have a Kifaru Koala myself. If I'm carrying a pack, it'll be a Kifaru, so the Koala will easily adapt. If I'm not carrying a pack, I'd rather have the gun on my hip.

I use an El Paso Saddlery model 1942 Tanker. The crossfire lite at www.crossfirelite.com looks interesting, especially the price.

When I had my Smith 44 mag I had a Galco Kodiak which was a great very comfortable holster for a big gun.

I ordered one of the sportsman holsters but had "issues" with the order. I was charged but never received the holster and only when I cancelled the CC payment did the maker contact me. My previous attempts to contact them went unanswered...not exactly good customer service.

Your experience may differ but I think I'll try ordering the Grizzly instead.

Thanks for all the input. I went and ordered a Koala. Figured I could carry a handgun and have a pack to boot. Plus it was a good reason to buy more Kifaru.
