I want to build a smoker. Who has the plans? Send me the prints or post them.

    Ed,

No real plans, but my smoker is an old general motors refrigerator with a 2"x3" hole cut in the side near the bottom and a 4" round hole cut on the opposite side near the top. I made sure any plastic do-dads were removed from the interior and placed two electric hot plates inside on the bottom. Clear as mud!

Now I soak the wood chips (or darn near dust) in water for a few hours then put them dirrectly onto the hot plates cranked to high. I will sometimes put a tray with water/beer/wine on the rack just above the hot plates if I'm worried about drying out a delicate cut of meat.

I've seen this done with a simple metal garbage can to brick built boxes. Anything that will hold the heat/smoke and won't melt or burn will work with the electric hot plate or a plate of hot charcoal.

    GET-ER-DONE

I can't use an old fridge. They make good smokers. You see I have been a hick and red neck all my life, and the Missus is getting tired of my Red Green shenanigans. Seein how I am a carpenturd and have access to wood and tools, I thought I would build one. Now the outside fire box could be a 55gal drum
