You can dictate the order in which your threads are displayed by doing the following:

1. Go to User CP
2. Go to Edit Options
3. Under Thread Display Options, set the mode to Linear- Oldest First (or vice versa).

This is also where you can change time zone, Thread Cut Off Age, etc.
