    Default 2007 Northwest Rendezvous

Northwest Rendezvous. We actually humped a real trail this year! Nobody seemed to mind too much, to include our favorite mule, Miss Dolly. As you know from the posts that came before this, Dolly had help from some other four-leggers, a tribe of friendly pack goats. I certainly can’t add anything verbal to the accounts of this fine Rondy we’ve already read, so I’ll just put up these videos the little N-95 captured.

These videos are still works in process. Maggie has worked on getting better match-up between the video and audio on this batch, but it now seems the video quality has diminished! She is aware of it, and is going to address that too. Patience.

    Patrick,

Cool video. When your technical guru gets all the pieces in sync it looks like you'll have very handy, high-speed piece of kit to document your rambles! Thanks for sharing.

Great stuff! even despite the low quality of the video (not the content!) it really makes me wish I had been able to attend. It looks like that camera records MPEG-4 files. If you don't mind my asking, what programs are you using to get these videos to their final form?

    Hi Patrick - Maggie here.
This week, I'll be upgrading the quality of the videos to those you see with Soliloquy and Goats & Tiger Kids.

The poorer quality videos were the result of an attempt to get these to load more quickly. These higher quality ones will take longer to load, even with DSL - so dial-up users be aware. I spoke with Adobe this morning, and this compromise is the norm right now with available video technologies.
YouTube.com is a prime example - most videos there are intended to load quickly, but the quality is poor.

    Now, Mr. Smith's video-phone records in MPEG-4.

    1. I need to crunch that into something Flash Player can handle (the preferred video viewer right now).

    2. I brought Patrick's MPEG4 first into Adobe Premier, then Exported it for Flash (Flash can't take an MPEG directly without audio synch problems - it has to be converted via Premiere).

    3. Then exported the movie as an .swf file.

    Clear as mud?
    Maggie
