Good answer. Any excuse for another rod is a good one.
Depends on what you're going to use it for. If you're just going to be casting lightweight lures a short distance, lightweight would likely be better, but if you want enough backbone to toss heavier...
Ralph, perhaps you could cite your reference for what the "men who wrote it" meant, and where they specified the two purposes you cite? Sure would save everyone a lot of trouble. Thanks!!
People still watch Bill Maher?
Snakey, I know two things about 22 conversion kits--diddly, and squat.
Which one do you recommend for a Glock?
Ozark, if you have any H-1000 and Berger 140s, that combo is worth a try in your '06. I know of a guy who gets mid 2900's and great accuracy with 55-56 grains, and I get 3050 with 59.5 in my Ackley.
That's a good reason to start hand loading. I've got to think the ammo situation will correct itself at some point.
A Tikka T3 in .223 is what I'd get. Good varmint gun, and you can get them with an 8-twist to shoot heavy bullets if you want, a great rifle to practice shooting with. They have an easy-to-adjust...
Ttthhhhanks.
Why are the 270 guys tho thensitive?
Yeah, my 270 is much more accurate........now that it's a 280.
Damn you're old. To the OP, excellent photos!
I'm out east, too bad, we could've done some runnin & gunnin.
Cool. Chances are, 58-59 grains of H4831 and your choice of 130 grain bullet will shoot in your rifle. The only unresolved question is seating depth for your bullet of choice. Do you have a way to...
What unit, CC, I put in too?
I can load some rounds for you if you pay shipping and buy the bullets. Only thing is, without the rifle to shoot and see how the rounds work in your rifle, you could end up with a box of rounds...
Well, I guees that could be important if you're in the habit of getting cases stuck.......(insert smiley face here.....)
A couple of comments. For your loading bench, make sure your press...
Fortunately, you only have to please yourself.
Good point on the concentricty gauge. Runout in loaded ammo will limit accuracy, and without a concentricity gauge you're in the dark there.
I can't remember the last time I adjusted any die in...
Well, here's a great example of diverging opinions. The Rockchucker kit was recommended to me by Ian McMurchy, a long-range shooter and gun writer who used to post here until his un-timely passing a...
Jon S is right, once you start you'll either be loading more than 20 at a time, or decide it's not worth it and just buy factory ammo. Everything comes in lots of 50 or more, including brass,...
Looks like this statement by Hilary is what set you off? I'm no Hilary fan, and I understand opposition to homo***ual marriage on religious grounds.
But I do have a question for you. A person's...
I'd be willing to bet good money it's your chronograph. Your biggest groups were still at 2", and you just don't get those kinds of swings in velocity or top-end velocities without major problems.
In my experience, the lighting sure can mess with the readings, especially if the sun is low. Or if it goes from sunny to cloudy and back. I wouldn't say its a bad chrony, but you get what you pay...
