Re: 14"vs16" barrels on an AR

Well, every barrel shoots just a hair different, of course, and you may have a slow 14 and a fast 16, but I really think you will see nothing tangible from swapping to the 16, in this case. As I'm...

Re: 14"vs16" barrels on an AR

    Ryan,

As far as external and terminal ballistics go, you won't see a marked improvement at any range. If the new barrel is more accurate than the old, then you will obviously see an improvement...

    Elmbow,

Good looking gun. I've had a problem or two with one of my Kimbers, so I'm very curious to hear how this works out for you.

Not to start anything about famous barrel makers or...

    Elmbow,

I really don't think you can say that my opinion on this is so firm. As I said, I haven't used either of those scopes. As far as your questions about the Nikon...while I know they make...

    Re: Spotter at the Range

I've never used either of the scopes you mentioned, but I don't believe that the Nikon can possibly resolve .270 holes at that distance. A shoot n see would be different, but on a "normal" target? ...

    TAK,

I've been looking at the Bergers. I guess you're pretty happy with them? How fast are you launching them? Would you take an Elk with them?

I have the Kifaru shirt, as well as the arcteryx one that Superbadger mentioned, the Propper one, and two Marmot versions, with and without the micro fleece lining (which makes it more of a true...

    Re: Deer-only caliber

    Smokepole,

The only thing about that is that the TTSX expands within something like the first inch when tested. Now, maybe that isn't what happens in a deer, but modern bullets are pretty well...

    Re: Deer-only caliber

This is a very interesting topic to me, and I really don't know what to make of it. I have more than a passing interest in wound ballistics, but my experience seems to negate some of that fields...

So...what bullet do you prefer? I have a supply of 110 TSX that I intend to use for everything up to and including elk next year. I've thought about the Berger 140's as well, but I don't know that...

Re: Kifaru Rambling Rifle for possible sale

Thought I'd give this one more shot before putting it in the back of the safe. Aside from the above listed stuff, it also comes with some .358 reloading dies, a sturdier base (not ultralight, but...

That's awesome, both for your dad, and for Cameron. Cameron was much smaller the last time I saw him. How far behind the house? My wife now wants to move;-)

Kifaru Rambling Rifle for possible sale
