    Re: WTB expedition sled seats

I think the question becomes "does anybody out there need a pulk, and if so, does that Mountainsmith rig fit your needs, and would you sell the seats to Cory?"

    Those Mountainsmith pulks are nice,...

    Re: WTB expedition sled seats

I'm betting this will be a tough one to come by, may come down down to some sort of Crazy Creek? At least with those, they can be incorporated into a ground pad if you contemplate an overnight for...

    Re: Pointman fit

Snakey's correct about the belt and the delta straps. Also your torso length is too long, even before getting the belt where it should be. (see the gap behind your shoulder blades)

    Once you've...
  4. Thanksgiving morning Canned Food Drive + hike @ Green Mountain

Swiped from Kifaru International's Facebook post on 11/19:

Re: x-ray and gun bearer an OK combo?

The Tarryall's a sweet pack, big enough to do multiple overnights with, curious about how compressible it is for single day use. The gunbearer is like anything else Kifaru, worth fiddling with to...

Re: x-ray and gun bearer an OK combo?

You're mounting it to 1. an Omni Belt 2. a shoulder strap. To the suspension, which >>IS<< the platform.

I've run gunbearers on Tailgunners, Scouts, X-Rays, MollEx, Marauder, Omni Yoke, (all...

    Re: 1000d organizer pocket

I'm always having to thread the 3-bar sliders back in on mine. Love it, but, hate it. (and, yes, I've seen Mel's video about how to thread 3-bar sliders through PALS) Good thing tiny zip ties are a...

    Re: WTB Koala

    The one Redbeard posted has:
    1. the Koala lite
    2. the harness
    3. the holster

    The options it doesn't have
    4. koala lite pocket (attaches to the front, has elastic, pockets inside)
    5. magazine...
  9. Re: WTB Mountainsmith Mountainlight or similar

The '90s Mountainsmith Frostfires are the best value there is on a pack, imho. My 6'8" tall friend has mine. (I'm 5'10") It's the first pack I think he's ever had that fit. Fit me fine too. I...

    Re: WTS CB omni yoke

This tells my story trying to come up with a replacement since the group buy we were trying to put together here on the forums couldn't quite get the number we needed.

I ended up buying an OD...

    Re: Frankenstein diy nomad

And High Ground Gear. Kifaru's long pockets work well too.....
  12. Re: Any interest in some Liter Plus pouches?

They make great belt pouches or on the pack right behind the belt if you've got real estate. I just got 3 OD ones and a couple MC. Thanks for the hook up Ransom!!

    Bump!!
  13. Re: G2 Pointman, Navigator, Express, ZXR, Late Season, Spike Camp

I'm agreeing with steveb on this. There were a few ZXRs out that had 24" stays. I am remembering the stay length equating with the MMR, and mine, a G1, is 23".
  14. Re: G2 Pointman, Navigator, Express, ZXR, Late Season, Spike Camp

Everything I've seen says 24" for the Navigator

There were a few different versions of the ZXR as I recall.

Re: WTS 2 Kifaru Pack Belts

Those are Omni Belts, so Tailgunners, Scouts, Express/MollEx, Spike Camp, Xing, and Marauders can use them. I'm betting I left something off..

I'd guess they're large or XL based on the ~36" of...

I'll facebook you a few pics of Josie with the Tailgunner. She was just talking about how it's her favorite daypack. She's also carried an Urban Zippy with a framesheet for a while to school..

Hi this is Josie, Rob's daughter. My dad has talked to me about these Quad Sticks and said you would be willing to lend us these for when I go deer hunting in November. I think this is very kind to...

    Re: Looking for Tailgunner 1

This doesn't strike me as quite as good as the TG1, but, it's US Made and Tactical Tailor's stuff that I've used is solid. It looks to be similar (probably smaller) size/shape/opening, albeit with...

    Hey Kevin!
would this be a good choice for my daughter?

Or, you're back to the HPG M2016 for a similar, (but not as cool, in my opinion) lumbar rig. My complaint with the HPG design is the same as with the...

    Re: Quandary replacement?

I suggest appealing to Kifaru for a Scout. While it's marked as "discontinued", they've done at least one additional run of Scouts since that initial announcement. It's 1,300 cubic inches, so...

    Re: Tarryall Thoughts

    Watching.

Tarryall is my current n+1, but, I'm pretty fickle, and have a Pointman, which is the same volume, but, is a very different pack. The Tarryall would be my long work travel pack...
