I've experimented with assembling the stoves using the gasket material that you can use to reseal the door on your home woodstove,It made everything except the door pretty airtight

you don't have to loose width just pitch with the front off the ground. You get extra height and width and better ventilation
Thankyou
Tim
good idea!
got to agree with most everyone else, its rather unfortunate,I like my K U pack.Market has to dictate though
Tim
I'd wait if I were you,use it through the winter months

agreed here as well, seems like it wouldn't be that hard to make it a bit more flexable
I've been thinking about getting a bug nest for my Super Tarp
You do need to exorcise more forethought and caution when packing the K U 's but for the weight savings its an easy trade off

What happened to Patrick's essays?
I've had a KU 5200 since the first year they came out.I'm not familiar with where you hike but mine spends allot of tome on the Olympic Peninsula which is VERY thick. It's held up just fine

Not as many good canoe areas as you might think around here mostly sea kayaking on the Sound.Lots of fun but not quite the same as canoeing in the Boundary Waters or in the Adirondacks
I'm liking the canoe talk.I have to make it a point to get more use out of mine this summer.

I like those pictures. What kind of chair are you sitting in on the first one ?

just got a G B Small Forest Axe and it is far and away my new favorite

I've thought about doing the same thing with the top spreader on my 5200.Mostly I wanted it as high as possible and would want to let the ends run past the stays long enough to attach lashing straps...
striving to me the person your dog thinks you are is a worthy goal !
look at Western Mountaineering and Feathered Friends if you clean them every couple of years and store them properly they will out last you with no loss of performance

I cant remember the name but there was a move made about him
I hang mine in my shop for a few days.It takes a bot longer when the liner is attached because moisture gets trapped between layers

have you tried the Gatewood cape yet? If yes than how tall are you? I've looked at those for quite a while but at 6'-2" I'm noy sure if it would be a long enough shelter for me

Thanks for the reply.I guess I was hoping they would be more self sufficient like pack goats.I still think they are a great idea especially where wolves could be around.Keep us posted
Thanks

How many days can you have the donkeys out and expect them to forage for food(if at all) ?Or do you have to pack their food in for any overnight ?
