  1. Re: Squish’mups: An Omni framed, larger E&E

Thank you sir. I did most of this on a machine, but certain parts were beyond it, so I did them by hand. Other parts, like the seam tape around the back pads, I didn’t have an edge binder, so I just...

Ha! Well, firstly, thank you, and secondly, no I don’t plan on making these. I like the figuring out what I all want in it, the drawing patterns, the cutting and sewing, and the testing it out and...

    Re: What thread for repair?

I would use Coats upholstery thread. Doesn't come in Ranger Green, but it does come in brown. Most things I've made or repaired has used this colour, and it works fine.

    Re: backpack style dry bag

I’ve never seen any such thing. Sewing PALS webbing to a waterproof material would obviate the waterproof quality of the material. Or require adding another layer of waterproof fabric beneath it to...

    Re: Strong tomahawk

Glad I could help. Mention of a bearded head and an oddly shaped plywood handle rung a bell.

It’s called a Firestone Belt Axe btw.

    Re: president-reefer-coast guard

So let me get this straight.....if you fess up to having consumed ganja, even once, the Coast Guard won’t give you a licence to operate a boat?

So how about licensing some of these designs to a smaller, hungrier company? A company that can do a great job on pouches but hasn’t the expertise to do packs. That might be willing to stock more...

I have a bone to pick with Kifaru

So the fact that Kifaru is discontinuing OD is slipped in under the radar in a thread. And then the fact that if you want anything in OD you had better hurry and get it immediately, is also mentioned...

    Re: Hoisting a Heavy Ruck

Sorry to hear about your pack.

Don't know if I would do this with a pack weighing 80 pounds, but the way I usually put my pack on is by means of the Mochilero Backflip.
