I did call today and was informed that the 1000d Organizer is being discontinued and that the PALS system won't ever be an option on even the 500d version.

On Instagram Aron said the slip in panels won't work in an Urban Zippy. I'd infer from that the reverse is also the case, and the Omni Frame won't work in the Urban Ruck.

Having some limited runs of old packs would be nice, but the biggest lack in my opinion is the absence of pockets. There really needs to be runs of the various side pockets in particular.

I too wish the RG organizer was available in Malice version. I understand that the fabric itself isn't available in 1000d but that doesn't preclude a 500d malice version as you suggest.

Depending on how much bigger you need to go, you're looking at the Zippy or an XRay. They are both exceptional packs. If you go with a Zippy the added framesheet is necessity IMO.

E&E works on an XRay well, but it does overlap the top of the panel a bit. On the other hand it's almost a perfect match for the panel of the Xing.

I couldn't agree more, Crossada. The XRay is a different category of pack!

A hybrid XRay would be a better option IMO. Put bottle pouches from the Zippy on the side and then leave the PALS on just the panel. That would be the best of all worlds, especially since Kifaru...

That would be too bad, if it's the case. The 3 bars are convenient, but they don't hold a load without sagging like PALS do.
