Chris, I need to send you the money I owe you for the pack, how much is it again and what's your address? Phil
Chris, As followup to our prior discussion on Winchester vs Kimber, I finally located and just picked up the Winchester stainless featherweight am I am initially quite pleased. The workmanship seems quite good, the walnut is decent and the trigger is pretty good out of the box. Bolt action is very smooth and the weight is not excessive, although it is not a lightweight. I do not have a decent scale here to get an exact weight. If you decide to go ahead with one, I do not think you will be sorry. Again, thanks for your prior suggestions. Ed (Edod)
If you want to hunt 3, look in the basin just east of fortification rocks, for one spot. That's about 15 miles N of Craig, on the W side of Hwy 13. Long shots, but there are occasionally elk in the basin, and there are deer. Good chance of getting a doe, and perhaps a cow.
Bill Bryce, aka Singleshot, goes up in 371 in December, at the Columbine Ranch area. If you want to hunt elk there, plan on a hike unless the snows drop them down. It's about ten miles north of Dillon on the LH side of the road.
