I'm looking for any and all pictures of people's Marauders. I plan on buying on at some point, but I still love to flip through the gear pr0n.

There is no dedicated picture tread but rather individual pictures and post.
But I guess this is a good enough reason to start one /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I will try to get a few good shots of my Marauder with Claymore pouches attached for you. I also have some long pockets I might try to throw on there to see how they work. It will be a good experiment and I will take pics as I go and post them. Standby.

Hiya - I manage the boards, and would be happy to help with photo posting. If you'd like to email me any photos (kifaru_cs@prodigy.net), I can dump them into our server and they'll be available to putting into your thread - i'll guide you through the process.

Sorry I have not taken the pics yet. My wife just took a trip and needed a good bag for luggage that she could carry on her back...guess what she is using! That's right, she has my Marauder with two long pockets on the back and a Claymore on the bottom. And the best part is...it is MULTICAM!!! I put the waist belt on it for her and she is carrying it in comfort. When she gets back at the end of the week, I will try to get pics of it before she unpacks.

An update: We are in the middle of a move and had to get bookin as soon as my wife returned. It will be a while before I get the digital camera, although I have my Marauder back now. I have not forgotten and I will get it up as soon as I can, Probably late September somtime... Sorry.

Counting the days to have something to post a picture of. In the meantime, I'd love to see how some of you guys have your internal cargo area arranged with pockets and all. I've only seen a picture once a while back on another message board where someone showed how they had all their internal pockets arranged. One of the things that turned me onto Marauders in the first place.

Pathfinder,
Very nice. Are the Grimlocks green or tan (I mean Foliage or Coyote ;-) How do you like the Sandler? What bladder are you running it with. Looks like a very well thought out set up.

-bill </div></div>I think the grimlocks are supposed to be green... but they look more like gray.

The Sandler seems like a really well thought out hydration carrier for a great price. I'll be running a regular [screw cap] Camelback bladder in it that I pulled out of my HAWG. What I love about the sandler is it has straps to use it separate, but the straps tuck out of the way into the webbing.

Not too thought out... I've seen similar on Lightfighter with RAID packs... which is where I got my "inspiration". I want to try to load the D&amp;L long pocket with a tent but I have to find some shorter bungee-poles to fit into it.

Nice pack and pouches pathfinder, but aren't you worried about throwing the weight off by having the water on one side? Even if you counter-balance it with a tent, your weight distribution will change as you drink.

Just my .02 /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif If you've tried it and it works for you I'll keep my trap shut /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Doug
Edited to add, My wife and I will be taking her new Marauder camping and hiking this week, so when we get back I'll post pics. I'll also take some of our aid-bag Marauders at work that I keep promissing to /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif .

pathfinder74

I've thought about that.

I actually bought the long pocket to load a second bladder. Wanted to try them both and see which one worked better. If the Sandler does the job well enough I'll probably pick up another one to put on the other side and move the long pocket to the bottom or back panel.

Then the weight distribution can be worked out by alternating drinking between the two bladder tubes.

PF,
Have you tried putting the tent poles in diagonally? Seems obvious but I had to ask. If not i'd think they'd fit in either the bladder sleeve or the front panel pocket of the pack, no? if not you could always lash them horizontally along the bottom of the pack or stuff them between the back of your Long Pocket and the pack side, sort of like a tunneled pocket, perhaps with some velcro or elastic band cleverness to keep them secure?... might even be able to stow them in the PALS loops on the pack or pouches? HTH, good luck and enjoy.

Here is my black Marauder and the only one this side of the Atlantic-I think. It has an Emdom small shingle with a Emdom Admin pouch attached as a 'super' Admin pouch. It allows the bag to stand up without tipping over.
I've also put a picture on of a strap management option I've found over here which works OK.
The patch is my Units.

Desperate need for strap management...

Looks good. I have a new MC Marauder that I use. Its OK. Pretty comfy, but smallish.

Some design issues I'm not thrilled with, so I'm sending it off to a tailor to correct most of them. I'll post a pic of it when complete.

Looking to add a nice pack/pouch onto the front of mine eventually. I currently have an Emdom Wideload, but it is a bit too small.

I'm in the middle of putting together those velcro keepers that were in the Strap Management thread. Having tried to sew them on myself and making horrible time, I've decided to not sew them and just make sure that I don't lose them when I undo the straps. I'll post pics when I get some more velcro in.

Savage, what are the two big pouches on the front lid. Are they Claymores? I am looking to add one more pouch to my front cover and its a tossup between a claymore and a second Emdom Wide Load. The wide load is nice, and has a decent internal layout, but the Claymore looks a little thicker. After that I think I'll order some internal mesh pockets.

imported_Scott Cunningham

Here is my Marauder in its natural environment. I still need another pouch for the front to replace the two shingles (looking at a second Emdom Wide load, a Fatty, or a Kifaru Claymore), and a side pouch to replace the small woodland green one that I swapped over to another pack (probably an Emdom SUV). I'll just put those shingle pouches on over the top of the new ones.

You can see how the multicam works pretty well in the desert. Its not as good as desert tan or 3 color desert, but it seems better than the Coyote. A little dust and it blends right in.

The claymores stuff out quite well if you need more room.

Sorry it took so long to get these pics up...I've been promising to post them for months now /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif . Earlier this year the fiscal gods smiled on us and gave our SAR team $5,000 to spend on new gear. Me being the resident gear-nut, I was given the job of deciding what to spend it on. I decided to make three top-of the line BLS (Basic Life Support) packs for our deputies who are assigned to transport the SAR ground teams during a mission, to kep in their vehicles. The deputies typically have less medical training than the SAR vollunteers, but this way the aid bags could be taken quickly to most parts of a search area.

I chose the Marauder as the base for the three packs and this is what I came up with /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif :

This photo shows one of them with my E&amp;E attached to the back...

http://www.hunt101.com/img/308083-big.JPG

This photo shows it open, showing the pouch layout...

http://www.hunt101.com/img/308084-big.JPG

And this photo shows it with some of the contents pulled out to show their location in the pack...

http://www.hunt101.com/img/308085-big.JPG

On the flap cover we've attached two #8 mesh pockets, a large #4 mesh flap pocket, and a #7 mesh pocket (for BP cuff and steth). In the body of the pack we have two #6 420 pockets (for Kerlix and Israeli bandages), and two #1 pull-out type pockets for small items like tape, turniquets, etc. Gloves and other PPE equipment are kept in the slot zipper pocket on the lid, and an M9 o2 bottle is kept in the hydration pouch. A BVM, OPAs, NPAs, Nasal canula, NRB mask, Laerdal V-vac suction, etc. are all carried as well as trauma supplies like all sorts of bandages, SAM splint, idoine, saline, etc.

OK, here's my setup for what I hope to be an enjoyable day hike tomorrow.

Finally finished with my strap management so everything is nice and tidy. I left the delta straps and waistbelt straps loose b/c it easier for me to adjust them.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/SgtSolo/Picture002.jpg

Shown here with an EMDOM small shingle, Spec Ops X4, BPG Upright GP, and 2 BPG 40mm Grenade Pouches. On the sides are two canteen pouches with MALICE clips and a Side Zip Long Pouch.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/SgtSolo/Picture006.jpg

On the bottom I've got a Camelbak Transformer pouch that I've turned into an E-tool pouch. Incidentally, the little fasteners that Camelbak uses to attach Transformer pouches are also compatible with those slots on the bottom of the Marauder. Fit it underneath the compression straps and you are GTG.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/SgtSolo/Picture001.jpg

You may have noticed that I've swapped out a lot of the black hardware for matching coyote hardware, courtesy of Supply Captain. I've also replaced the waistbelt buckle with a center release buckle, the old one was a pain in the ass to close, so I'm hoping this will be a little easier.

It's amazing how much I can actually pack in the Marauder once I start adding all the accessory pouches. This is where the PALS webbing and Dock and Lock really shine. It would not be difficult at all to turn this assault pack into a 3-day pack, or even longer if you're willing to rough it. I've still got an E&amp;E pouch that is empty and feeling left out, so I think I'll start packing in some pogey bait. I gotta have some reward for all the humping I plan on doing. /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

well no luck posting pics... But in any case, Mel and the rest of you Kifaru folks all I can say is "WOW, NICE PACK" I'm very please with my Marauder and E&amp;E, frist class craftsmanship. You people do some great work. I was a little nesitatant about the non-padded wasitbelt, but I gotta admit I was wrong, this non-padded belt is wonderful. I got the "Power-Pull" version with PALS and loaded this pack up with some camping gear and took it for a little hike to see what I thought of it and I gotta admit I've very pleased, this has to be one of the most comfortable packs I've worn. Been experimenting with the adjustments settings, so not sure if it's right yet, but it sure feels good so far.

Pappy, it looks from your links like you're trying to post the pics directly from your hard-drive on your PC. You can't do it that way. You have to find an online site that will host your pics for you. There are quite a few free online picture hosting sites. I use a couple of them. "hunt101.com" is an very user friendly site you can use.
