When you lopped a couple inches off your Super Redhawk, what was the weight savings?

It was three inches. I can't remember, so will re-weigh it tomorrow at the shop. A very large part of the whole excercize was to shorten the dang thing up. Weight savings welcome too of course. I'll post manana.

The shortened .480 weighs 2 lbs. 15 oz. I went to the Ruger site to find original weight, and couldn't. If you know the orig. weight I'd like to hear it.

The Ruger site specifies a 7 1/2 inch 480 as weighing 3 lbs. 4 oz. The weights of Ruger guns are under the "detailed specifications" link on their website.

Patrick - The Ruger Web site is right on - 3 lbs, 4 ounces.
