Ran across this on another chat board and never heard of it.Suppose to be the cat's meow for keeping mos.and bl flies away.Anybody use and what does it consist of.Sounds almost like a solid fuel hand warmer.Last year's moose hunt in north Ontario was the worst for bugs.clouds of them.If this works then would be just the ticket.Thanks.

The thermacell works. I have used mine several times while hunting here in Georgia. Once you turn it on, it takes about 5-10 mins to heat up and begin working, but it does work. I'm still not sure if the smell will scare off deer (most people say it doesn't), but it is nice not to be sitting in a stand for several hours swating at bugs. I'm able to hunt swamps and creek bottoms now that I would not have hunted until the weather turned cold. Give it a try.

12 man, I've got a paratipi that works perfect for me because I don't really need anything bigger, or for that matter heavier. I can completely understand your reluctance in posting where you are from on the internet. Where do you usually moose hunt?? I didn't get out this year due to commitments with a new job but next year I will be in the swamps waiting for a big bull!! As for this Thermacell I am definetly going to be finding some way to get my hands on one after reading the reviews from people on this forum...

The picture of the Cabela's model looks about the size of fat TV remote. Just how big or heavy are these little wonders?
