View Full Version : Colorado Kifaru Rendezvous 2018

05-02-2018, 04:42 PM
I'm a little behind the power curve, but here's the official info for this year's granddaddy of them all Kifaru Rendezvous. If you plan to attend, or have questions about the rondy, feel free to PM me here or email me at sawtooth63@hotmail.com.

This will be the second year we've held the rondy at the new location in extreme southern Park County, Colorado. It's a bit more off the beaten path than the old rondy site, but it provides for MUCH less interruption from errant OHV traffic. You may never see anyone else outside of fellow Kifaruites.

We have long-range rifle ranges out to 1,000 yards and scenic, secluded campsites. It's a pretty good spot! Four-wheel drive and high clearance vehicles are recommended, but not necessary unless the weather has been wet. I will keep you posted here on weather as we get closer to May 19th.

As before, bring your own water, food (traditionally we all share many pot-luck dishes), porta potty, shelter, etc., etc.

Early birds are most welcome. Patrick will probably show up on Thursday, May 17th. I will try to get out there on Friday.

DATES: May 19-20, 2018 (Saturday-Sunday)
LOCATION: Provided via PM when you RSVP

How was the sea food?

How was the sea food?

The lobsters had too much lead in them. Gonna have to slow down the shooters on the range we had

I thought steel shot was a requirement for alpine crustaceans.... But, biting into steel's probably more likely to break teeth. :-)

I'm pretty impressed with that range, it was good to get the AR as dialed as I can with the 1-6 Vortex Strike Eagle, but, I'm thinking I need to swap some optics on one of my bolt guns to be able to shoot further than 400....

Thanks to everyone who came to the rondy! Lots of great shooting, cooking, fellowship, and new friends! Although it was rainy, we had some windows of sunshine for long range work.

This is my first time back on the forums in a long time. I just want to say how great it was to meet up with everyone at the Rondy. I had a blast, literally, on the range and it was a perfect setting to reset from the craziness and busy schedule I've been on the past few months. Thank you to Patrick, Paul, Angie, and everyone else who were so very welcoming to the old "new guy" from Connecticut. Hard to believe I've been running Kifaru gear since 2007 and this is the first time I've attended an event like this.
