I recently picked up a late season for an upcoming mule deer hunt. I like the bag size for travel as well. The pack has duplex belt and 22" stays. I am ignorant to all the options kifaru offers.

Questions:
Other than the standard belt pockets, what can be added to grow the pack for a 3 night stay? We will have a base at the truck but want to be able to stay on an animal for a few days if necessary. I would like to carry a bag compressed, tent compressed, basic clothing items, basic water food and first aid, Leupold spotter , and tripod. Meat will be boned out if successful.

How do you add 24" stays?

Congrats on grabbing an outstanding iconic Kifaru pack. Absolutely love mine and can't see myself ever letting it go.

Any side pocket (medium or large) or dock and lock pocket (back pouch, claymore, top/side zip long pocket) will work on the late season.

Look on the website at the side pockets and there's a couple of pics of the late season with a medium and large side pocket attached.

Couldn't help myself....these side pockets are heavily discounted right now also.

Be sure to pick up a grab it and lash kit also. Super handy and very versatile for holding stuff on the outside of the pack.

A pod for underneath works well too. Long pockets if you can find them work similarly to the side pockets Digemout posted, and a lid can be added pretty easily too. I try to pack my heavy, dense stuff in the pack, close to the stays. I like external pockets for food, so I can hang those without worrying about food smells in my main bag if a mouse were to come along.

Good calling the lid and pod Rob. I don't own any pods but here's a pic of my Guide Lid on my LS. I just used a coupe of pieces of cord to tie the top on. Worked pretty well.
