The friction tape that came with a new set of Buris Zee scope rings was oil soaked and therefore worthtless. What common material has anybody had luck with using inside the rings?

Thanks,
Scott

Rosin, as in the rosin bag that baseball players use.

I used good old fashioned loctite on the 300 WSM.

But I'd bet if you call Burris, they'd send you some friction tape if you'd rather.

Related to this is the comment I have seen a few times that the matte finish scopes move a lot less in rings than the gloss finish- anyone had experience with this?

Kevin, Thanks for the input. I will try the loctite.

I have never had a matte finished scope move in any rings. I have had trouble with the gloss finished Leupold compacts moving, except in weaver rings.
