What are they for?

Are you talking about the ones at the ends of the zipper? If so, they are for connecting the contoured shoulder strap so that they can be shoulder slung. All the Kifaru pockets have them. They also come in handy as a grip when zipping them closed.

No I have six common loops on the back of mine. Two on the top and four line up with the dock n lock straps. Looking at the YouTube videos Patrick did, I don't see these four common loops on his video.

I think they are for using the KU connector buckles... the ones with a 3bar slider on one end and a side release buckle on the other.

Forgot about those. In the past, I've used them to secure the pocket horizontally on tactical packs via the webbing. Feed the female end of the SR buckle thought the webbing and clip it in. Not sure if that was the intent, but it works.
