Are these special for Kifaru, or are the ones with the split in the back to put on existing loops a standard Molle/ military type part?

Either way where can they be found? And what is the proper vernacular to describe these?

I believe you're referring to the dock and lock couplers. Is this the buckle you're talking about?

Either way, none of Kifaru's ITW Nexus buckles are exclusive to Kifaru.

To go even further...you can replace the male and female buckles with either standard g-hooks (cost prohibitive solution) or k-connectors (Kifaru solution that is pricey but probably works better than the stand alone g-hook).

With the g-hooks or k-connectors, you don't even need the split bar buckle to go on the webbing. See some links below...
