How does a G1 express carry versus a G2 Express? Is there a noticeable difference?

considering a used G1 but would like to understand the difference between it and a G2.
Thanks!

The G2 express has raised torso pads, raised lumbar pads, and a larger "grippy" part on the lumbar area. I think that's it as far as suspension upgrades go.

In general the G2's are more comfortable. But the G1's are still comfortable. Remember, it's still a Kifaru.

The G2 express has the top lid pockets (mesh under the lid, and a cordura one on top of the lid) where the G1 doesn't.

Zane,
the G2 is taller ( depending on your torso length) so you get the benefit of shoulder lift. The G1 was without the raised torso pads and I found it more comfortable and a better pack for skiing of fast moving. It was also lighter. Given the capacity of the Express and the intended use I would go with the G1 suspension . IF IT WAS TALLER . Nice fast lean pack. This is subjective to your height, torso length and intended use.

You're probably thinking of the pointman.

The express did not have a stay length change during the G1 -> G2 switchover.

Click on the "G2" icon on the right-hand side of this screen:

Thanks men...this is helpful. The use of the pack will be general mountaineering/climbing and hunting. I currently am using a MR Snapdragon and am wanting something a bit more streamlined.
