Stay length relates more to your torso length (measured in some interesting but doable way, which you can look up on line.) I know a guy who is shorter than me but when he sits in a car his head nearly hits the ceiling, whereas I don't have that problem. You want stays that will be high enough to keep the weight from riding on your shoulders. I just sold a G1 Zulu for an EMR Frame. The difference is night and day, all because of stay length. Good question, but step 1 is to measure your torso length.

God bless,
Adam

Edit: It's also worth asking what kind of loads you plan on carrying 24" and 26" frames carry different bags of differing capacities. Make sure the frame you want takes the bag you want. Then again, if you're using it as a frame hauler, like me, then it doesn't matter as long as you can properly lash your load.

Thanks guys. I'm going with the DT2 bag not sure which frame yet. I'm gonna use it for bivy hunting and backpacking around home.

PS This will be my first pack I'm buying.
