i just received my ku3700 about two weeks ago and this immediately stood out...what does the 0110 mean?

also, from having used a number of kifaru stuff (zxr, woobie, doobie, etc.) i know kifaru is always function over form...so i'm curious what's the reasoning behind moving the top lid's buckles to the bottom?

I'm pretty sure the 0110 label is the serial number (yours was the 110th bag made). As for the top lid buckles at the bottom, they're located there so that you can cinch the lid down with a lightly loaded, and even unloaded, pack.

Scott

i'm still puzzled though since here's my zxr and it cinches down tight even when completely empty. same goes with any top-loading pack i've used...only thing i could think of is with the ku3700 when i unbuckle it, the straps aren't hanging below the bottom of the pack, i.e. less likely to snag on something.

I've been doing training hikes with my KU 5200 with 50 pounds of rice in a hanging meat bag, and the lid straps are cinched all the way tight. If the buckles were higher, the lid wouldn't be tightly drawn down.
