I have the longhunter frame and will buy a bag but need input on the differences\preferences in regards to the longhunter and timberline 3700. Allowing for the diff. in cubic inches, the price is roughly the same, so which would you buy?

Correction. T3 not timberline 3700.

I have a Long Hunter and ordered the DT3, but if you only have the frame my vote goes for DT2 as a do all. Good luck!

1. Buy the timberline, it is the better design and lighter.

2. Buy the biggest bag, the DT1.

Look at the photographs, there is almost no practical difference in size, or weight, amongst the bags, and all will sinch down to the about same size empty.

The reverse is not true, a smaller pack cannot expand up in size.

If you only need the bigger bag on two or three hunts, you will still be miles ahead of buying a smaller bag and then looking around for solutions down the road when you need more capacity.
