View Full Version : Question on new UL5200

I just got my girlfriend's 5200 in the mail today. We haven't really had a chance to do much at all with it, but upon inspection we found a feature that hasn't been in any of the pictures we've seen to date. On the sides of the bag just above the cordura bottom are two horizontal velcro strips about 5" long connected by two vertical strips of 1" webbing approximately 6" long. The strips make a rectangle and appear to be used to attach something, as the velcro is only sewn down at the ends and the fuzzy side faces the bag. It appears a corresponding velcro attachment should be threaded through it, but I'm not sure what that attachment might be. Any ideas?

Thanks! I didn't know the Possibles Pouch could attach to the pack.

Strange...the UL Possibles Pouch attaches with the Lock-n-Load attachments, not the velcro. Does that mean that spot is only meant for a regular weight Possibles Pouch? Why isn't it set up to take a UL pouch?

Could be the UL bottle pouch location. That is, if I am reading your location desciption correctly.

Yeah it is strange, i guess so you can use the old ones if you already have them(i have 3 of them). But it still dosent explain why you cant put the new UL's in the same place as before. Guess we will have to wait for an answer from Mel or Patrick on that one.

The UL bottle pouch attaches using Velcro. The attachment is for the bottle pouch.

Gents, the new KU Bottle Pouch will attach to the waistbelt OR the sides of the KU Packs.

Hey guys, here is the YouTube video of the KU Water Bottle Pouch. Also, the vertical strips of webbing were added to the production models to reinforce the horizontal velcro strips. Any photos you see of the KU packs without this is a pre-production model.

You might want to check out all the KU product YouTube videos.

Thanks for all of the replies and the information. I hadn't considered the bottle pouch.
