View Full Version : 350 RM Factory Throat?

I'm putting together a 350 RM on a SS M70 short actoin (WSM). This magazine will allow bullets to be seated out to (and feed reliably at) 2.975." It's my understanding the 600/660/700 Classic's came with a very long throat from the factory.

Does anyone know if this is true?

I once read an article by F. Aagaard on the 350 RM 700 Classic... he stated bullets could have been seated out to 3.05"!

I can seat bullets way out in my model 600 and really increase the powder capacity, so it must have a long throat. The problem is I have to seat them deep to get them in the magazine. I have thought of just single loading one in the chamber and using it like a single shot, but don't really know if that will buy me many fps with the 18.5 inch barrel. I don't usually chamber a round until I'm in the thick of the elk anyhow. Does anyone know of a powder/bullet combo that will buy me much by single loading the longer round???
