Hey guys, first post on the new board. Just wondering about what I heard the other day at the shop about Big Green and their "new" .350 chambering in I guess the Model 7 format. Its been available for years through the Custom Shop but someone said they are doing a regular production run. Any truth to this or just smoke?? I'm a little out of touch the last 6 weeks or so and haven't kept up with much. Sorry for any duplication this may cause. Regards, Oz

Oz, take a look at the Remington web site. Remington 673 is reminiscent of the old 600/660, and is offered in 300 SAUM and 350 Rem Mag. But a little bigger than the old ones, longer barrels, I think 23". Vent rib and hooked front sight but no dogleg bolt.

Layne Simpson wrote in, I believe, Rifleshooter that he only got 30 fps more out of the 673 with the longer barrel, plus it weighs 2 lbs more. I think I will keep my old model 600 in .350 for rooting the bulls out of the timber! To bad they didn't just chamber the great little model 7 in .350 with a light, short barrel....

I'm all for any new release of the 350 mag, but I think Remington would have been better off to offer the rib as an option only. Everyone will be taking them off anyway.
My old 660 remington has a 20 inch barrel, and the 350 mag would be better served by an extra 1/4 inch of magazine space than 2 inches of barrel length. You still can't stick the 225 grain nosler BT or the 250 grain loads in the 350 without taking up too much space.
The longer winchester model 70 short action rifles may be a better platform for the 350 mag.
Good shooting, Weagle

The New Rem 673 I predict will not last long, I am glad they brought the 350 Mag back, but the one thing that Rem forgot was why hunters wanted or need is a short/powerful rifle, they did it but had to put a 22" Barrel on it.....should have been a 18.5" then they have something compared to the Marlin Guide Gun. I have a Rem 600 in 350 and 6.5 Mag few things should have chaged a Brownnell Steel Trigger Guard and Vent Rib.

I'm not sure why the didn't make a 350 RSUM, 18.5" barrel, iron sights, model 7 stainless.

Now, that would ROCK!
