View Full Version : ECR '11 dates...

It's that time of year again...time to start planning the next winta 'rhondy, East coast style.

Typically it's in early Feb., right around Valentines. Presidents weekend is the weekend of the 20th, and for many, a long weekend.

So let's hear it, what weekend works best for everyone?

That's after our winter bow season so Feb/March sounds good as usual....

What ever you ECR folks decide on works for me!

What firearm(s) to bring this year??? hmmmm :)

Hope to see everyone there!!!

Well I like the first two weekends 5/6 or 12/13. Valentines Day is on Monday so I wouldn't "think" it is a big deal. That being said I have no idea if its a big deal to a female or not because I think it isn't it probably is. The weekend of 19/20 is usually the Schoodic ice fishing derby so I would like that free. But I'll show up whatever weekend unless I am 86ed. I imagine there has to be some thought as to how busy that section of the hobby horse manufacturing will be at that time of year. Warrenty work and all just saying. Take care Robbie

I'm in for any dates you folks decide. I've retired from guiding, so...I'M IN BIG TIME.

Let's start an arsenal request. If you have a rifle or pistol that you'd like to shoot at ECR 2011, let it be known when you sign in on this thread and these kind folks will bring them to the rondy for your shooting pleasure.

5/6 works "best" for me, but any weekend will do.

Hi, I'm John. New to the forum, but interested in winter camping. I'm looking forward to seeing some Kifaru gear (especially the tipi's!) first hand.

The dates that work best for me are the 5th and 6th. (I instruct at an Appleseed shoot on the 12th and 13th.)

I can bring a Liberty Training Rifle if anybody's interested, or an LRB M-25 w/ a Shepard scope. If you've never looked through a Shepard, they're downright convenient.

The weekend of 5/6 sounds good, but I can go just about anytime. I really don't have any cool firearms but should have a Sawtooth by then.

I'm in for Feb. 12-13! I switched the Appleseed shoot so I could do this.

Just so people know, I'm going to be way under-equipped this first time out, because I want to see what everybody has, how it works, and how it fits, if possible.

I'm still reading the catalog.

For this trip I'm just going to stuff as much as possible into my little day pack and do the best I can. I'll strap the sleeping bag and pads on the outside. It's only a weekend, and I can starve for a day if I have to.

I do plan to bring some indian candy for food and to share.

Ken
01-05-2011, 10:12 AM
Hey John, glad you can make it to the event. You certainly will not starve. I'd be real surprised if any former attendee came foward and said they actually LOST weight while here..lol...Bring anything reasonable you would like, I'll have a sled to tow things in with.

I was hoping to hear back from Canadian guy before now. He was OK for the 5th, but didn't say weather or not the 12th was a no go. At this point he would be the only one we are leaving out by proceeding with the 12th...hopefully he can make it.

Let's go ahead and call it the weekend of the 12th. I'll call Patrick so he can get his flights planned.

Get your rounds loaded, pulks in order and be prepared to have another good time in the 'daks.

Hey guys!

Wow -- lost track of time! Dave R called the other night & reminded me that Rondy-time is coming up. My wife is on the road to recovery -- she's not out of the woods yet, but things are good enough for me to head back to the woods!! I've got some work issues that prevent me from committing, but if things settle out properly, I may be a last minute addition.

Hope to see everyone, but if not, I'll send some positive vibes in a Northville direction!!

PA Scott

A little heads up for everyone....

We will have a little more range open this year for shooting. I looked over another nearby place to shoot and I'm thinking we will get nearly 350 yards to air out some lead there. I'm getting together a couple of 12 x 12 plates as we speak. I'd like one around 2-250, then out out as far as we can, around 350. Should be fun.

Plan accordingly.:D

William Clunie

I'm making adjustments as we speak. This is going to be even better than expected. I also have a .22 caliber spinning target if you need one. Let me know.

Just wanted to say a big thanks ! to Ken, and John, Chris, and Patrick, and everyone else for a great ECR, had a great time and will certainly try my best to make next years, and hopefully will be with my new Sawtooth Tipi. I did end up with a great canoe that I bought from Ralph, Gregg helped me back to the house with it, you see he is still into trucking,LOL:, thanks Gregg.

I feel like an idiot, I found my stove, it was under the back panel where it drapes down on the bottom of the Siwash. Each time I took everything out of the pack and looked in I couldn't see it. I'm learning something new everyday.

Again thanks to everyone.
