I am planning on thru hiking the Appalachian Trail and would like some input from some Para Tipi owners. The season range will be from winter (Jan) to summer (June). I will encounter (according to some thru hiker's journal entries) snow, rain, wind, heat, cold, humidity and any possible combination. Any input would be greatly appreciated and will help in part of my equipment selection. Thanks, Dennis in VA

I used mine quite a bit this season here in NY. A few things I learned were that on humid days ventelating the tipi will definitly help reduce moisture. In the rain I dug a shallow trench around the tipi and sunk the pegs deep to prevent water seepage under the walls, water seeping through is not a problem as long as you seal the seems good . Dont worry about wind , pick a good site and pitch lowend into the wind and ther will be no issues. I used my para solo and find that facing the stove to the rear of the tipi and slightly canted off center of the pole works better for me alone . Most of my sites were on flat ground . Hope this hepls
