I have heard of things like the See Clearly method and there are sapposed to be other excersises you can do to strengthen your eye sight vs getting glasses or giving up. If you know of anything to help strengthen eye sight so a clearer sight picture can be obtained let me know.

Everyone I know (including myself) that has used those exercises has improved their ability focus, more specifically their ability to change focus quickly (near-far, etc.). But it did not help the basic long distance clarity. So it has value, but it is not magic like the infomercials would have you believe.

Several years back my wife did some program which reduced her glasses prescription substantially. The program worked but as I recall the FDA or somebody shut him down - said they would charge him with practicing medicine without a license if he kept selling it or some such. Later, I think he did offer a watered down "informational only" version of his materials. The guy was out of Montana as I recall. Our lenses are hardening now but the program really did work. I can try to get more information from my wife if you like.

I'm afraid there's no magic bullet for deteriorating visual acuity. But to those of you that suffer from presbyopia, I will offer the following as an example of staving it off;
I've got a numb-nutted little brother that absolutely refuses to wear glasses. He's had deteriorating vision since he was about 40 (he's 47 now) but he just will not wear glasses that correct for his inability to see up-close. He's learned to squint like the devil - which forces the focus to be concentrated on a small part of his retina - which is the same principle behind the Merit Optical Shooting device.
If he ever starts wearing glasses, he will lose the ability to "squint" and correct for the inflexibility of his lens - but for now - he's staved off the inevitable much longer than I thought possible.

Hi, I'm G.O.'s wife. About 10 years ago, I found this program that basically exercises your eye muscles. I am near-sighted and improved from about -450 to -250. Simply, the program told you to take off your glasses when reading and read with eyes wide open, 'slightly out of focus' and to push the book away. The opposite technique for far-sightedness. I have been stable and not improved over the last few years due to being really busy. Oh, and when you go to the optomitrist appointment, exercise 30 minutes before and have them start testing at 'plano' (20/20) - NOT at your current perscription. There is this website: http://www.visionfreedom.com -- I believe it is the same person with the same technique, but I do not highly esteem the character of this person, he is rather crass and do not share his personal beliefs.
