Pictures from the first annual Kirkuk Regional Air Base/FOB Warrior Iraq Rondy.

That's me, waiting for some Kifaru-minded peeps to come by my CHU (Containerized housing unit - exactly what it sounds like)

Alas, I should have posted in more places, because that's about the extent of the participation.

Well, I'll be back in time for the NW Rondy next year....

Nice to hear from and see your safe and sound. We'll look forward to your safe return and a full rondy report next summer in the Cascades.

Best to you and your family this Christmas season!

Randy and Badger,

I'm having fun. The troops are exceptional. We're all old fart reservists, the Army is all young kids with a few old guys. It's not home, but it sure is important, and I'm blessed to be here with these guys.

I miss the fall, and the mountains and my family. I'm sure certain that they will all mean more to me when I get back.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder, and all that.

Jack, there actually is a out-put improvised in the munitions storage area.

It is, after all, an Air Force base...
