I read in another post (can't remember where) that Kifaru was going to be coming out with its own raingear. Is this true? Any ideas on timeline?

I really wish I could tell you. Spent a little time looking, with no results. As I recall it was a passing reference.

With all that silnylon and talented seamstresses around I bet Kifaru could turn out a top notch poncho to go along with the woobie. While ponchos aren't the greatest raingear in windy conditions they're great in warm weather or as a quick bivy.

Kifaru had a great poncho a couple of years ago.
It had a stove jack and could also be used as a door for a paratarp.

And that is a lot of multi-use! Notice, you never see one for sale on the trading post.

Another application for that sil-nylon is pack covers.
