Hi All, just a quick request - I have been using my E&E and Xray both for EDC and they just swallow gear. However I have tried to use my xray for a few weekend trips (with mini-longs) and it is always just a bit small... I've D&Led the E&E but it is a bit unwieldy for me.

I am thinking the Molle Express might be a better fit for me but I'm having a tough time finding many real world pics of them on ones back for relative size... I'm a visual person and its hard for me to imagine dimensions.

There are plenty of pics on here (spent an hour coming the posts) but, alas, not on anyone's back. I thought I remembered a thread with Mel loaded up with one...?

I have seen the military morons review of the express and the relative size pics on the kifaru site - but I still would like to see "real world" pics...

If you have any, I'd love to see them along with a not of your height.

OK I'm rambling - thank you in advance!

Not the world's best pic, but here you go:

I'm about 5' 8" (short-ass) :)

I've used the MOLLE Express on one weekender so far (I've put the pics of it loaded up in a few other threads) and it worked really well - now I have a medium Pod on the bottom, I'll need to strap a lot less onto the sides so it should run pretty slick. You can just about squeeze a weekender's worth of stuff into/onto it if you wanted to, though, with no extra pouches... as long as you pack light. ;)

Hi jadias - awesome picture - just what I was looking for. The express looks more and more perfect everyday!

Gorgeous place to hike by the way!

Thanks!

and for reference an Xray on someone who is 5'5"
I think the Xray is even a little too short for a shorty.

What color is that pack? Looks not green enough to be OD? Is that Foliage?

Thanks

Guys thanks so much for the continued pics - its really great seeing them all in action!

Provides me such a better idea of the size as compared to pics of the packs alone...

Damn the express looks sweet!

Cameron, would you be so kind as to describe how you've attached your holster to your shoulder strap?

Kydex paddle holster no modification required, works like a charm.

I'd like to thank those folks who left their pics up. :D

Does anybody else have pics of an Express and/or Molle Express (with an E&E :)) being worn? I'm so close to pulling the trigger. I just need to decide between the two.

Cheers,
:D

OK, how about these (5' 11"):

G1 Express, E&E, Emdom 4X4

This pack was sold on this board and I used the proceeds to buy a new G1 Molle Express when they came out. The Express is such a sleek package.

Thanks for the pics! What do you find lacking in the Express that led you to buy the mollex? Did you have specific addons that you needed more attachments for?

Thanks again. :D

Great screen name, I'm more of a biphasic 200j kind of guy myself.

Take care,

I got the MOLLEx rather than the bare Express for the flexability. I have PALS on the belt for the same reason. These packs are expensive and are made to last for years, even decades of use so you can't always predict what you may need at some time in the future. The extra webbing does add a tiny bit of extra weight but the flexability makes up for that.

The pals on the Mollex really makes for an adaptable system. There are many times I don't want the hassle of using a water bladder. I can use the mini-longs on the sides of the Mollex (and other packs) for water bottles. I can access the bottles whilst on the move (zips face forward). They are great for this, easier to use than the 2qts. In each one, I can fit either a 1L nalgene or two standard .5L bottles of water/gatorade.

IMO, 'must have' pouches for the X-Ray, Mollex, Marauder, Zulu, or Pointman

1. Stash-its x 2
2. Mini-Longs x 2
3. Organizer x 1
4. Grab-it x 1
5. An E&E

This setup works very well on all the above packs. On the larger packs (Navigator,ZXR,MMR,EMR), I like the standard long pockets instead of the minis.
I don't use all of the pouches all of the time, but it's sure nice to have the option.

Thanks for the pics all.

I just placed orders for a molle express, e&e, small pod and 1 stash it. Add that to the koala I already have on order...I should be pretty set. :D

Oh, except for the paratarp I need. And the 4 man tipi I just dream about. With stoves.

But for now, I wait.

Cant wait for mine to get here, Should ship late this week or early next week, order I think had the 15th on it? The ZXR will be shipping 2 weeks later (28th est), then like you I have the Koala on order as well.

I will be leaving the country for a few weeks just before or just after when I get mine (still waiting on orders) but will try it out as soon as I get back and report back.

Did you happen to get a belt with yours? I choose the pals/powerpull padded belt, also got a few pockets/ pods. Really think this will be a great size for a summer weekend pack. If I like it alot, which Im sure I will, I will be placing an order for a second to replace the GHB I currently use (condor II), think sucks to carry long distances due to the lack of a frame, but I still made it 17 miles to my girlfriends sisters place.

I picked up the padded pals belt as well.

Post pics when you get your setup. It'll help tide me over. :D

Received the package last night, bad news, the belt was too large, called Angie this morning and talked to her about it, seems my 39" waist was right at the crossing point for the Regular and large belt. With the large it came with I was able to cinch it all the way up to the buckles and still fit 8 fingers between the belt and my hip. Angie however was VERY nice and asked me to mail the belt back, which it was sent on its way at 0831 this morning. She is trying to get the "regular" sized belt included in my next order that should be shipping in a few weeks, hope everything works out well with that plan, if not I am still happy to get it taken care of eitherway. She also checked my ZXR order and made sure that it has a "regular" belt as my EMR already does.

I will be placing a light load in the MolleEx (no bag/ tent) and going on a day hike Sunday just to try it out san the belt. I will try to take a few photos and report back. I will also be able to take it with me as a day bag to the UAE towards the end of the month for a few weeks.

Angie, Kifaru, and crew... thank you for everything and keep up the outstanding customer service. Like mentioned earlier today, I can not wait to place my next order! Its hard to find a company now a days that cares about their products not to mention their customers. Your team really are stand up in both these catagories.

Good information! Based on this, I think I will send Angie an email about my order to ask about the belt size. I'm in a similar situation.

Here's another 'atta-boy' for Angie. I was playing with a small pod I ordered acouple months ago and noticed that one of the straps was the wrong colour (the old tan vs coyote). Not really a big deal, but when I mentioned this to Angie, she promptly shipped a new strap on the spot. Bless her heart!
