Vernon.....I have a stencil that I use on all my gear (boats, tipi's, wall tents, etc.) that I spray paint over.
Wanderlust... I was/am using the stakes provided in with the tipi's, gotta get something different as the river bed is all rock and very difficult to pound in. Any suggestions? I was thinking was big long nails would work well.341

It looked pretty challenging. I suppose if weight is not a factor then hardware store spikes would do it.
I am trying to get a kit together that is as lite weight as I can get by with and I am going to try a couple different stakes for that kind of condition.
These Vargo Ti nail pegs are a half ounce each and look good.

Pretty spendy though - at 17 bucks for six - http://www.gearstuff.com/catalog.php?id=21505&type=product
I also ordered a couple lengths of these....

Carbon fiber from ti goat - at a quarter ounce per 9" stake and about the same money - they sound great - if they would hold up - (they claim they do). I guess I'll find out! http://www.titaniumgoat.com/stakes.html
Not worth the money if your floating the gear but on my back it is worth the investment.
Cool pictures - makes me want to get out! :)
