Can we officially designate the dates for the Colorado SPRING Rendezvous?
It’s snowing again today and I need something to look forward to. Marking my calendar for that event will help, and it’ll give Huntsman22 time to look for another rattlesnake.
I need some time to smoke some stuff too!! I coming and will have rib eyes for the early birds.

I seem to recall this always being the weekend before Memorial Day weekend.

That's the date that Patrick was talking about at Movie night a few weeks back (the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend).

Had skis for years. Blew knees. Doc says no more skis. Me mostly stay low in winter. Dream about spring up high.

“Me got no skis; me all time working; drive home, ice knees, sleep; all winter long think about hunting (and good knees), how have skis?”

We've typically located it within 2 hours of Denver on public land on the edge for some pretty good elk, deer, sheep and mountain goat country. It's easy to get to from anywhere.
We have a grand family-oriented time. Join us!

Everyone is required to bring a large, metal milk jug.
Firearms, guitars and horses?

wd - Yes. Along with bows, goats, dogs and tall tales.
Huntsman22 (seated center trying to fit an exploding-elk .260 round into his customized Kimber Montana) is the teller of REALLY tall tales. And one of the most likeable guys you'll ever meet.

wd, the shooting is one of the highlights. Patrick and singleshot bring assorted steel targets, set out to 500 and 600 yards last year and fixed with strobes that flash when you hit 'em. There'll be a few benches to shoot off, spotters set up, etc. Watching people shoot Don's .204 and ping the steel without even trying at 500, or singleshot's handguns at long distance is a real treat.
Also, smaller steel at 100, 200, 300, 400 and we can't forget the little silhouettes that singleshot brings and sets up for the rimfire range. He brings about 50 of those and the kids knock 'em down as fast as "uncle Don" can set 'em up and get the kids re-loaded. Kids of all ages.
It's a blast. Lot's of different handguns and rifles to ogle and shoot, even front-stuffers, archery targets, and so on and so forth.
Another highlight is the food. The way some of these guys haul it in and cook it up, you'd think they hadn't eaten in weeks.
The biggest highlight is the people though, that's the best part.

I can't wait!!!
Blowing snow sideways in Cheyenne tonight with wind chills around zero. If it wasn't for my faithfull blaze king I would be depressed. Something about a dancing flame on a cold night, seems to feed the soul.

Yup, I was up in Cheyenne yesterday, ate at the Luxury Diner. I was walking across the parking lot, almost to the door, and had this strange itching sensation all up and down my back. Turned around and there were about a dozen tumbleweeds plastered on me.....

I've got a plan for the can, Florida and Georgia need to get their sweetcorn in the ground!!

Man Smoke, ya should have given me a call. I would have bought. The Luxury is the best lunch spot in town.

Well then, I will next time, I can't eat all that food myself anyways and I'll need somebody to pry those dang tumbleweeds off me.

Alas, as much fun as Xander and I had last time, this year I will still be in the Sandbox for the Rondy. :-(
Hopefully, the entire family will join me next year though. :-)
