View Full Version : XTL on Zulu Tip

Hey guys, I've had a couple people tell me that when using their XTL on a lightly loaded Zulu, it would slip back over the stays a bit. This will only happen if you snug down real tight on the top lid when the pack is not loaded to the top. I came up with a very simple solution to this using just a short piece of 550 cord. The pics in the link below, show it better than I could explain it. When viewing the pics, you need to start at the bottom and work back in order (ZXTL1-ZXTL5). You'll see in ZXTL1 what I mean by slipping over the stays. Next is the fix, and then the result with the same load and same tightness of the top lid. If you need to remove your XTL, just yank the simple shoelace knot open. It's an easy fix, and it works. Here's the link, and just click on the pics to make them bigger.
