I believe that those are Australia Special Air Service(SAS) based in Perth.

Uniform is Auscam.

Due to the task being carried out, equipment and uniforms, they would be most likely regular infantry. It would be nice to see Kifaru in Auscam hey (wishfull thinking). Kifaru is just starting to to become widely known down here and should become more popular. /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I never had the pleasure of working with them, but everyone who I know who has had nothing but good things to say about the Australian military. Glad to see they're getting good gear.

If the info. from Australia DOD web is correct. I belive they are Commando Company Group from 4th Battalion (Commando), RAR

I believe 4RAR (CDO) is more likely than SASR.

As John indicates, there is an anounced 4RAR and presence in Timor and no announced SASR presence there as far as I know

Which is not to say that SASR aren't there. But 4RAR sounds a better bet to me.

Of course there are no SASR pers there... Same as there were never any there during the first round of trouble....LOL!
Fireball is probably right, but my money would be on a couple of guys from Perth.
Although, I have been 'out of the loop' for a couple of years now, so anything is possible.
