Got this little pouch last week. Have to say am pleased as punch with how well it matches my Tactical Tailor MAV and the uniform itself. I was pleased to see that the chamber poket is in foliage green and it comes with 4 female quick conect foliage green buckles to dock and lock it to a pack. Now I just have to wait for the ZXR in ACU pattern to get here. I also like the chest strap that was added to the pouch some time ago, but after I had bought my OD one. Some pics with my ACU TT MAV and other uniform items for comparison. The last shot is the pouch on top of a Cabela's military fleece jacket in "Loden". Pretty close to foliage green.

Wow, ACU (or UCP w/e u guys want to call it) looks incredibly ***y in those pics! Maybe its that nice balance of ACU and foliage green strap/webbing. I can see kifaru has the perfect color tone, some other brands seem to have that tainted yellowish look, very nice.

Dan,

How tall are you? That thing looks huge.

dan's only 4' 9" with his cap on :p
(just kidding - it's probably just lens distortion in the first pic)

nice pics, danno!

I am 5' 10". Maybe it is the closeness of the camera. Or maybe I leaned back toward the camera. I had the fleece jacket stuffed in it. Overall I am somewhat amazed that the pattern on the cordura matches the uniform so well. Much better than my "woody-flage" collection.

Dan, just got an ACU express and E+E pack. Seems like there were some small improvements made on the E+E pack since I bought my MC one about 9 months ago. What a great system! I love the express: sleek and comfortable. I'll try and get some pics up this weekend.

Dan,
Why if you and I are both 5'10" was I eating peanuts off your head when we met up at SHOT05? Probably just because I was hungry, no wonder I'm fat. I'd say it looks about the normal size for the E&E, now on a big guy like Mel or Chuck an E&E looks positively diminutive. Is the shiny jacket a PCU piece? I was at Cabela's store in Hamburg, PA about a month and a half back and I concur, the loden fleecy stuff is?
A) a good match for ACU/UCP stuff
B) pretty damn nice looking in general
C) all of the above
I'm really digging the foliage chamber pocket too. What have you got on the MAV, I see the standard mag pouch, sm ute and med pouch (don't like the

MelT,
Foliage cordura around the way? Might be the hot new thing (that and Ranger Green and MJK and and and... lol)

Schweet E&E. I'm salivating 'cuz Janice told my ACU kit is on the way. My guys are salivating 'cuz I'm retiring my CB kit.

Re: the Loden Green Cabela's ECWCS jacket:

Close but no cigar. Don't be that guy who got tackled by the gang of marauding E-9s in the Embassy parking lot last winter while wearing the Loden (less gray than Foliage) Green ECWCS jacket.

Aw shoot, that guy was ME!

"No sh*t there I was, in the front-leaning rest next to an up-armored Audi as they questioned my manhood (I guess plain ol' BLACK ain't good enough fer yew, son?), my willingness to comply with keystone Army Regulations like 670-1 (even though the ACU regs were stamped "draft" at the time) and the wisdom of spending $80 for a fleece JUST LIKE the one issued free by the government (uh, that one that burned up in an unfortunate incident involving a disgruntled band of locals and a fuel-air explosive. I can get a new one if I can get a flight to Kuwait. Unless the FLIPL finds me negligent for driving through an area known for IEDs.) Now PUSH, yew!"

Ah ha! The FLIPL! It helps that I outrank E-9s. I also don't usually go running around with just fleece as outer wear though. When I was a captain I had a LTC send a MAJ to query whether my PCU 5 was authorized by AR 670-1. Since neither was in my chain of command I just said the AR was out of date. Technically it was, but the about to be puclished update did not authorize it either. I always wondered why he did not just ask me himself. I only wear it out in the field now. Summer is coming so I wil procrastinate getting a UCP/ACU softshell unitl next fall.

Where is the about to be published 670-1? I am curious about it but cannot find the draft online. Anyone have a pdf copy?

DAN M. Thanks for posting the pictures. I sent a couple of them to my daughter and she really liked it. She is a blackhawk crew chief and wanted something to carry in the helicopter that was small, but roomy enough for "just in case" stuff.
I figured that a small pack would take a beating
so I wanted to give the E&E a shot. I think she will really like it. This might trigger a rash of E&Es being sent to her Avn Bn.
