I have noticed with the webbing color is always solid (black, OD and CB). On packs rich in webbing like the EMR that seems to take away from the packs camo pattern. This seems industry standard. I wonder if anyone in the industry has thought of making camo webbing? Maybe Mel or Patrick would know this. The CB does not look bad on MC but just look at the madness produced on a Tri desert UM21 with black webbing. The desert UM21 is not my pack just a pic I found on ebay.

Lacking camo webbing, you'd think that on the camo patterns it would help to alternate CB and OD tapes on the PALS.

I think alternating colors would be a bad idea. It would create a pattern that would draw the eye to it.

ICE tactical makes their webbing in the pattern.

G'day,

ICE make their external pals from cordura, so not 'webbing' webbing, but effective. More labour involved in production.

Other creative/handy types have painted their pals webbing. MM has examples on his site of kifaru tiger striped and multicam gear.

Camo webbing is available. I dont know the technical specifics about its manufacture or costs etc, but it does exist. Check out http://www.strapworks.com (http://www.strapworks.com) . They have a few different camo webbing types. Im not sure its the mil spec that Kifaru uses though.

Gany.

MM had on his site a Multicam Marauder that he took water resistant paints and just Multicammed the straps. Said that it was fairly easy, and the photos look good. Putting pouches on would also break it up pretty good /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I've kind of wondered about the utility of camouflaged packs with a grid of webbing on them, but in a few pictures I have of my multi-cam E&E at about 60 yards the webbing did not appear noticeable. With use the webbing will get dirty, stained etc and be less noticeable, I would think. I guess you could always roll it around in the dirt before using it...
