This is not original, but the concept has value.

I learned that the Claymore or back pouches can be used as sandbags. I do a fair amount of precision rifle shooting. Someone showed me to fill the bag with lentils, beans and rice as a supplementary source of food in the field. You can go another step further and put the grains in a plastic ziplock bag and then avoid any spillage.

At this point I am using one of the bags a couple of times a month in rifle shooting. Given the construction, there is never any concern about splitting, getting things filthy or storage when not in use.
